A Question for Authority by Sam Flot 2004

A Question For Authority

by sam flot 2004

Back in the day
All hung up
On a wall
In the Museum of Futility
Compassion was the catch phrase
Under trees of shade or sunsets

Always playing the game
Close to the vest
Taking and using every advantage
Hyper-hypocritical
In staking off the high ground

Only games of strategy
Are played n a flat board
On an even playing field

Nothing like
Helping out
By reporting “suspicious activities” and
“unsafe conditions”
Either in public oratories or
In one’s own home

I have a question for authority

Where’d ya get that hat?
Looks great on you
Matches your outfit
Really works on you!

But don’t you feel like hell?
It’s been like the old days lately
You been on quite a bender
Havin’ a good time

Lyin’
Cheatin’
Lootin’
Stealin’

Gutting the constitution
Gutting the rules which enforce
Checks and balances
Gutting the environment down to a stump

You’ll be all apologies
When the bender’s over

And
It must be
Very tiring
Very exhausting

Still I gotta ask one question

Where’d ya get that hat?

Action! by Sam Flot 2017

Action!

Protected corrections
With ability
With facility
To maintain, sustain and regain
I keep telling myself
Stop all the complaining and Action!

Stop sharing ones and zeroes and Action!
Teach yourself about your self
Learn about your will and your intention and then
Move them to Action!

Nothing gets done without Action!
Grab some traction, convince a faction, educate a fraction
Drop your phone back in your pocketor
Grab a plug and find a socket
Recharge and be ready to Action!

Be prepared to manage your own reaction
Etiquette in tact not lacking
Reminding my self not to settle for
The lowest common denominator

Stay original and respectful when you Action!
Leave no questions while riding the curve of change on a circle
Riding the curve of time on a turtle
Get off the couch and find your touch
Preferential to any senses deferential

Follow your inner prodigy
To find your mystic profit

Cloudyards in the Earthsky Earth by Sam Flot

Cloudyards in the Earthsky Earth
by Sam Flot 2009

Unfounded groundlings soaring
On feats of complex contexts

Write the flow you know
Interlocking the pieces
Knowing the way will illuminate
The light that leads me
Down a path of green grass
Through or over the black asphalt

Horns are announcing arrival
Of a passing through

Expressing the urgency of caution and
Tracks and trains and crossings
Sides, spurs and stoppings

The other side
Dropping off the storyline
Only to return aligned

Intersections are everywhere
You don’t need to even stare
Crossing paths without collapse
The roads cross and the realms will meet

Simple moments
In the rain on the run
Living lifelong connections
That never short circuit
Sides and sides

Which side are you on?
Which side are you off?
Annnndd did I forget to mention?
We’re all on the same side
Despite the conclusion you may have come to

I am one and
You are too

We all intersect
No competition exists
Same side’s’ all I’m sayin’

No game will deliver you
From the game you’ve been playin’
Same as same says we’re different
Same as said same existence

Which side are you on if my side is your side?
You’re either with us
Or you’re with us

The choice isn’t up to you or your ball cap
One same as the other
Any different difference is a trap

The Page and The Paragraph by Sam Flot

-->
The Page & The Paragraph
By Sam Flot
2017

The volume is ample, supple and visceral
The message is heavy with thought
Delivered lightly like a digable dirigible
The audience is open and their ears are big
Clear focus is tantamount to preferable varying levels of full
The attention bill is paid up right now and
A certain page is place we all settle
The same page this time

We’re in sync and in flow
We’re a part of it
We are it
We all settle on the same page and
No one follows
No one leads

We settle in the same paragraph
Across centuries and countries
Across purposes and porpoises
Across oceans and mountains

We all find some way to be here now
We settle in the same page
The same paragraph
The field is open wide
The possibilities are endless
The path is as long as it is wide and
We all must exist together on this floating dirigible
In sync and in flow

We bend
We listen
We think
In the flow and
In sync
